This is stunning 😍😍 I envy people with the courage to go tenting lol. I know it's basic for some but I think I'd be too scared to go it alone, even with my dog!

I don't know if I would call tent camping stunning......but we had not camped in a tent in a while. I felt pretty safe there.......and so tired that I fell asleep quickly. However, the hardest part was getting out of the tent.......practically have to roll out of it.....my flexibility is not what is used to be. Do I qualify for the Wildwood Wanted Club?

LOL the photos are stunning. I realize nothing is stunning about roughing it 😆😆And anyone who rolls out of a tent is wilder than I am! I imagine if I had a tent, I'd be rolling out as well. That's how I get off the floor after yoga!

I actually brought my yoga pad to put under my sleeping bag. I still had to roll out. Try doing that in the middle of night when you have to go pee.

I cannot believe I am wilder than you .

Lol that's why my publication is called wildhood WANTED. I used to be much wilder than I am now and I'm looking to get some of that back!

It was such a beautiful way to wake up - the loons, the sunrise, the solitude. Thank you for your positive feedback on my photos and for sharing.

Four days in a canoe and then a portage. You sent me down the Anduin with Frodo and the Fellowship of the Ring. Beautiful essay and photos!

It was quite an adventure and learning experience for us "older" folks. Not anything like you have endured - I am sure. Thank you Sam for your feedback - means a lot to me.

It is ALL good, and extremity is not always the answer. Thoreau and his writing is proof of this as well. It strikes deep.

I would love to the sunrise over Lake Superior someday. Having a cup of coffee with a sunrise show is the best.

This looks like such an amazing adventure. Jenn. Waking up to loons and a hawk cry - that is a great way to start the day! I enjoyed your haiku as well. Looking forward to the next chapter in this adventure.

Yes it was amazing. I just love being in the Adirondacks and we have never camped in this area - right next to where we could paddle. The loons were so neat during the night. However, we did not see a lot of loons when paddling - maybe about 4 or 5. They are looking for fish and I think there was not a lot of fish in the ponds we paddled in. My Merlin identified the hawk sound as a Broad-Winged Hawk which is a first for me. He was so loud....I thought he was critter right outside my tent. Thank you very much for your comments and for sharing. I am getting better at writing down notes on these adventures so I can remember more details.

Looking forward to hearing more about your adventure! Sunrises are so amazing around the equinox. We enjoy watching them over the lake during our morning coffee and they are a big hit with our Airbnb guests!
