My husband always wants to take photos of me......I shy away from that. I prefer photos of landscapes - urban, desert, mountain, trees and more. Thank you for reading. It was hard to choose some favorites.
I love the "story behind the picture" blurbs! It's so easy to just do a basic caption with the location name, but I love knowing why a specific image caught someone's eye. Looks like an incredible trip!
Thank you for that positive comment......I am definitely an off the beaten track person when it comes to photos......and I love photography. It was a trip of a lifetime.....probably too long but worth it.
That view of Stalheim is stunning, especially with the flowers in the foreground!
For the iPhone, check out a camera app called Project Indigo, by Adobe. You can take photos in RAW format and have a lot of manual control of the settings. It integrates with Lightroom for mobile so that when you take a photo with Indigo you can open it directly in Lightroom to edit.
That spot with the flowers was special. I marked it on my GPS and made sure I could find out more information about it online (in case we wished to return to it). Thanks for the tip on Project Indigo - I will check it out.
These are great photos! What an amazing region you were able to enjoy and I feel even more connected having just yesterday visited the Nordic heritage museum in Seattle. My wife is getting excited for a trip to Sweden she’s taking with her mom. I’ll forward this!
I loved Stockholm and Sweden. Thank you for your comments. I do like learning about Nordic heritage and hope to return to Norway soon for some winter fun.
Beautiful images and descriptions, Jenn. I like that concept of 'Fika.' Those mazarin/almond tarts looks really good and I could imagine how well they would go with a nice cup of coffee. That'd be my 'fika' for the day.
One of my off-the-beaten-track places I have visited on your travels is on Dobong Mountain north of Seoul, South Korea. There is a Buddhist monastery about two-thirds of the way up. If you arrive mid-morning, they provide a basic lunch of rice, noodles, soup, and vegetables for a donation in return. Definitely out of the way but worth the effort for the peace and tranquility and rest while hiking.
These are great pictures Jenn.
I also like to take shots of more unique buildings and landscapes where I can, something off the beaten track. Though I’m no great photographer!
My wife thinks I’m mad and would rather have a selfie or picture of us in front of the scene (after all, we are there!, she will say).

Jenn, What an amazing trip and evocative imagery and stories. I’d love to know … did you travel overland from country to country?
We were on an amazing Viking ocean cruise.
Great photos and point of view, Jenn. Thanks for taking us along on the journey.
Cool choices, Jenn! Julie and I happened upon the Russian Embassy while walking Tallinn a couple of years ago. Nice seeing free speech alive and well!

Wonderful photos, Jenn! Really enjoyed the descriptions as well. We will have to put those countries on our bucket list!
Thank you for your kind words…….are you planning a trip soon? Japan?
Japan is in the cards!
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
So glad you liked it.

My husband has spent some time in South Korea - as an Army Reservist. Thank you for sharing that memory. And thank you for sharing.
