Weekend Wanderer: Windmill Farm & Craft Market Opening Day
A Finger Lakes favorite returns with food, crafts, and spring energy. Over 175 vendors.
Weekend Wanderer is where I share one place or activity each week — simple, low-pressure ideas for making the most of your weekend.
One place. One plan. One good day outside.
Spring has a way of announcing itself quietly in the Finger Lakes with buds on the trees, birds migrating and that feeling that it’s finally time to return to my favorite farm market.
This Saturday, April 18, marks the return of a seasonal favorite: opening day at the Windmill Farm & Craft Market.
🌿 Why this works now
After a long winter, this is our first real chance to step in to Spring. The Windmill opens for its 39th season, bringing together local makers, growers and food vendors in one place. This place is special and it’s only open on Saturdays. People come from all over to spend the day at Windmill.
📍 The Setting
Tucked between Keuka Lake and Seneca Lake, the market itself sits on an expanse of rolling hills that define this part of the Finger Lakes — wide open views of the lakes, farmland and wine orchards.
The Windmill Farm and Craft Market encompasses over 40 acres with more than 175 vendors in a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. Make sure you give yourself enough time to soak it all in.
🛍️ What you’ll find
Handmade crafts and artisan goods
Fresh produce, baked goods and local specialties
Wine, beer and spirits tastings (mostly locally made)
Garden starts, flowers and early-season inspiration
Food stands providing plenty of menu choices for the entire day
It’s the kind of place where I come for one thing and leave with many more.

This looks like so much fun!
I regretted being so far from the market. But France will comfort me with its artisans!
