The weekend celebrates International Women’s Day with living history programs, ranger talks, a guest author talk and book signing, and family-friendly crafts and activities.

📜 About Women’s Rights National Historical Park
Located in Seneca Falls, the Women’s Rights National Historical Park commemorates the first Women’s Rights Convention of 1848 and the ongoing struggle for equality. Established in 1980, the park includes the historic Wesleyan Chapel, the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House, and a visitor center with exhibits about the groundbreaking Declaration of Sentiments.

March is National Women’s History Month, which makes this weekend feel especially fitting. I’m always drawn to places where history has real roots, and Seneca Falls, located in the Finger Lakes, is one of those places — and a personal favorite of mine to visit. This weekend offers a chance to slow down, listen, and reflect on the women whose courage continues to shape our lives.

🗺️ Here’s my plan for one good day this weekend
Morning
Start at the Women’s Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center. Watch the short orientation film and explore the exhibits to understand how the women’s rights movement began in Seneca Falls.
Midday
Join one of the park ranger talks or living history programs at Wesleyan Chapel, the site of the 1848 Women’s Rights Convention.
Afternoon
Attend the guest speaker program and book signing, or try one of the make-and-take crafts offered during the weekend.
Before you leave
Walk a few blocks to the National Women’s Hall of Fame to learn about the women who followed in the footsteps of the original convention leaders.
Warm up afterward
Grab a coffee ☕ or lunch in downtown Seneca Falls and take a moment to reflect on a town that helped change the course of American history.

Thanks for your interesting post as always. Whilst I'm definitely too far away to be able to go to any of them for the weekend, I love your sneak previews. I can say that the Finger Lakes is one of the only areas that you've featured that I've actually been - and that was a very long time ago and purely for wine.
