Wow, your porch seems so peaceful and fun Jenn! I wish my backyard was like this lol. Instead of birds, I get a lot of cats in my backyard because we have neighbors in our neighborhood that always feed the stray cats. Plus, there’s an outdoor house cat that always walks around too lol.💪❤️💪❤️

We are lucky that we have no cats around but sometimes a neighbor’s dog ambles into our backyard. Most likely, I see a fox run through out back woods near our house.

Wow, this is next level nature observation! Impressive! The busy-ness of life has been weighing on me a lot lately, as well. Quieting the mind is becoming a priority.

Beautiful peonies Jenn! I love how you've found a peaceful place to sit. Migration season was very productive in Chicago also- I went out with my husband a few times and yes, the Warblers were in full force this year. Many kinds! It's amazing when you take time to notice!

Thank you - my peonies are always a nice treat for me every Spring. Our Warblers are gone......so many different kinds as you say....I had no idea. Now I need to look for new birding hotspots as I hike this summer.

Nice list of bird sightings around your porch area, Jenn. I imagine many of the warblers have moved north and through my rea as well. Last weekend we had mostly Yellow Warblers and American Redstarts. I've heard but not yet seen Pine Warblers as well.

Interesting sighting of the Red-tailed Hawk. I wonder if that hawk is local to your area or migrating through back north. There are some good videos on YouTube of Blue Jays mimicking the calls of hawks to scare aware the competition at feeders. Funny to see.

Cool. I will check that out. I think we’ve seen this Redhawk in our area before. May migration is definitely over around here.

We had a flock of white pelicans come through this past month that did an extended stay. With the longer days as we neared the solstice, I really enjoy all the bird chatter that starts at 4:30 a.m. with the first hints of light.

Yes, they wake me up too! No pelicans here - ugh.
