Greatly enjoyed the way you wove the history of the place into the adventure! I had no knowledge of Buntline, so I enjoyed the learning opportunity as well!

A great read, Jenn. Good recommendation for a future paddle for Wendy and I. And What a Character!!

So glad you like this Dave. Buntline was a character - too much to go into on him here but he got into a lot of bad things.

I always wanted to paddle Blue Mountain Lake - the secret is to start early. Eagle Lake is an added benefit. One could add in a hike to Castle Rock if they wish.

What a fascinating essay, Jenn! I enjoyed reading your travelogue and images as well as learning about Edward Judson/Ned Buntline. Out of sheer curiosity, I had to take a look at that street address listed on one of Buntline's book covers with Street & Smith Publishers listed as 81 Fulton Street New York City. such an interesting background story. Thanks for sharing!
